How Smokey & Moo's Chews are Made: Our Process

We source all of our chews from trusted local farmers and homesteaders between Washington and Claysville, PA, picking up the raw materials directly from the butcher. Our process begins immediately after the cows are processed for consumption.

Once we receive the raw materials, we begin processing to maintain the utmost freshness and quality. Each chew undergoes a thorough cleaning process, starting with high-pressure water to remove any impurities, followed by another cleaning cycle after fleshing. Every chew is then inspected for quality control.

After cleaning, the chews are cut into size and shape specifications before undergoing slow dehydration at low temperatures for up to 72 hours. This dehydration process ensures that the chews are safe for even the most enthusiastic chewers, all while maintaining their natural flavor and texture.
